Summary: It’s Christmas during season 6. Spike ends up playing Santa for Buffy and Dawn, but the results are… well, not always optimal.

Author’s Note: The quote is from Charles Dickens’s “A Christmas Carol,” and yes, there are hints of “The Gift of the Magi” by O. Henry. Two other things: Dawn has completely forgiven Willow for the car accident, and my version of the Scoobies (particularly Spike) is a bit kinder and gentler than the one Joss gave us this year.

Spoilery Comment – you’ve been warned
Wow, when this came down from the feed I thought huh, feeds broken SL is never that big a file. So I checked and checked the site and nope it was right just really big… So I put it on not knowing what to expect and loved every minute.
As things unravel I could just picture Buffy’s disappointment and I really felt for Spike as you could just see her not realising how much effort he had put in. So mixed up with laughter and angst I waited for the ending and for a Christmas tale it was perfect, I’d of been gutted if it had ended any other way.
